HIKING: Little Red Mountain Trail

Description

The hikers head north up the slick rock where the views of Vernal are stunning. The hiking trail is approximately 1.5 miles in length and is suitable for intermediate hikers. The hike is best done in the spring/summer/fall, but please avoid the trail system when it is wet to prevent damage.

Directions

Travel north on 500 West which curves to the east and becomes UT Hwy 121. Turn north on 3500 West (Dry Fork Canyon Road). Turn north across Dry Fork on concrete bridge. Turn east on Dry Fork Cemetery road. Turn south on dirt road in front of cemetery fence. Travel through gate (remember to close the gate behind you) and proceed to parking at the intersection. Parking is not marked, and currently there is not a designated trailhead. Use your map and GPS unit to help you find your way. Hiking trail is marked with rock cairns and paint stripes. Equestrian trail will break off onto two-track wagon road.
